Wellesley is not the real world

... subject compliments father of bea, whose lovely daughter I had the privilege of telephonically borrowing last night, to the great relief of my (thread of) sanity. No matter how much shit I talk, that girl still gets me. *Deep bow to bea*

I'm down to having a new life's mission about every two weeks, and the same goes for where I think I might go come September. But at least I'm being constant at being inconstant and insane. :-)

Happy (belated) birthday to manticore7, who has disappeared off Mr. Radar (extra credit for getting the movie reference). Was housesitting again and thought of you.

Ran into cool Wellesley classmate of bella's (she was Figaro when you were the Countess, darling) on the street here- she's doing some Fringe stuff and Uni in Glasgow. Random but pretty interesting encounter, worlds colliding and all that.

Have started the dissertation. Thank fuck for that.

Mr. Radar (extra credit for getting the movie reference).
Spaceballs. Woo! A movie reference I actually know! And a darned good movie, too. What'd I win? What'd I win???

Speaking of life missions, I don't think I told you that I'm planning to torture myself go back to school in the fall...assuming I get admitted and all that. No, I'm not quitting work - work will pay my tuition.

YEAH!!!! You've won- now give me a minute and I'll come up with a better prize- a visit from me this fall. Since I'm moving back to the states, and to the state where your plantsitting aunt lives, I figure I'll hop on Amtrak (even in my marvy car, Hollywood is a bit of a drive) and actually see you. Cardboard boxes of joy are one thing, but I miss you and my random gift parcels shouldn't have all the fun of seeing you!

Congrats on planning on going back to (the rack...I mean) school in the fall. Whatcha gonna do? Work paying is fantastic, sounds good all around.

How'd I miss that you're moving back to my aunt's state? When? And why?

A visit sounds great! There's actually an Amtrak station very close to here (although not as close as it was to me in Michigan - a 4-minute walk is hard to beat).

I'll be studying computer stuff - working towards a Masters in Management Information Systems. I'll then be able to say that I've got a MSI and an (M)MIS!

You missed it because it's only been the plan as of really, really lately. Looking into Mystic (for more than the name, though that's a bonus)- it's got a ferry not far from it, a cool New England feel, and is close enough to my family while not being too close (as in I dislike Long Island and cannot ever move back). The main reasons I'm moving back to the states, for now anyway, are my grandparents, whom I will not have forever, and the postal service. Yup. The postal service.
And what's the site you usually use to look for apartments, by the way? I'm going to need to do that from here. I fly back to the states on September 17th, and that's a bit late to start looking to move in anywhere right away.
You and your spiffy degrees- I'll have to start throwing a 'Dr.' in front of your name soon for fun. :-)

What makes you think I know anything about looking for apartments???

I tend to use Springstreet.com, realtor.com, rent.com, apartments.com, and possibly a few others. A couple of those might be the same site, too. Also try Craigslist. Rent.com will give you a gift card for $100 if you say you found your apartment through them.

And if possible, it's always best to have somebody you trust check out the place you're considering before you put any money down on it.

Heyyy! Now that I've got my preeeety new flat, you can come over and hang out if you want ^_^

Um, do you still have my copy of 1610?

Hey you! Have wanted to swing by your new flat; hanging out definitely sounds like a plan. Shall I bring the requisite housewarming fruit basket, jell-o mold, or have you need of anything else rather silly and superfluous? :-)

Yes, I do indeed still have 1610 *slaps forehead*. Will bring that marvelous tome when I swing by, if that's alright? I can't believe how long it's been, sheesh, shame on me.

nah, don't really need anything. Certainly not fruit (I;ve been going nuts over fruit lately, there are at least four different kinds ripening in the kitchen just now ^_^)

Feel free to drop by anytime, though a call ahead would be appreciated (in case I'm actually out of the flat or something) ^_^

It was manticore7's birthday...?? He kept that pretty quiet!!

Mr Radar? I thought it was Mash?!

Ah, just Radar is Mash (teddy bear and all). rbb and tehblahh get the extra credit, but you get a little star sticker for coming up with your own cool reference.

It was manticore's birthday if I recall correctly, but as I think he may have ceased to exist, it doesn't matter that much, I suppose. ;-)

Mr Radar, next to Mr Coffee, and easily confused?
Especially since you always drink coffee when watching radar?

EXACTLY. Too hot! :-) Sorry for the short schizo conversation of doom yesterday. I was so hungover every cell in my body hurt and that tends to put me in a bit of a mood.
